POV: you need cloudy day backups for your Lauterbrunnen and Swiss Alps trip

If you're planning a trip to Switzerland and the weather is seriously stressing you out, don't worry, I felt the exact same way. My name is Dalia, I'm a travel agent and I'm also a really psycho planner. And I made both a sunny and cloudy itinerary for my trip to Lauterbrunnen. So here's how to plan your trip without freaking out about the forecast. Rule number 1: Zero visibility. If the visibility is completely low and it's gray sky, do not go up to the mountains. Don't waste your time. If it's partly cloudy, partly sunny, definitely still try to go up. The clouds move fast in the mountains, so weather can change really quickly. Sunny days mean prioritize mountains. So that means Schilthorn. You've got the iconic revolving restaurant and James Bond film scene here. Grindelwald First with the cliff walk. Jungfraujoch, the top of Europe and the highest railway station in all of Europe. Also want your alpine lake. That's Oeschinensee. You're gonna see some of the bluest water ever. Got Bachalpsee right near Grindelwald First, perfect for a sunny day with beautiful reflecting water. Also prioritize your mountain villages like Murren, Wengen, and Gimmelwald. Now for your cloudy days, this is where you're gonna want to pivot to low altitudes in valleys. So Lauterbrunnen Valley and the many waterfalls in it. It'll actually look really dramatic, powerful, misting, and if it's raining. You can also visit nearby towns like Thun, or Interlaken, I forgot to mention that. Go on a cruise or on the lake, or go underground at St. Beatus Caves, which is a sheltered cave system right on the lake. You could also do day trips to Lucerne or Bern. Both big, beautiful cities and still good on a rainy or cloudy day. Also typically city weather and mountain weather are very different. So you might actually get lucky and have sun.
