Back to school hairstyles part 5. Today we're doing a detailed braided bun hairstyle that looks like you will spend a lot of time on it, but it doesn't take very long at all. Start by smoothing all of the hair up into a high pony. I like to pull her thick hair up one half at a time. I'm going in with a couple drops of the K18 oil and a couple pumps of their Redken serum helps smooth out her hair before we braid it. Split the pony in half, then split each half into three sections and braid out that middle section as far as you can. Secure with an elastic and then we're going to braid all three sections. Secure with an elastic and then go back and pull out on the sections that are not braided for added fullness. Repeat the same steps with the other side so we have two big chunky braids. Wrap the first braid around the base of the pony to start your bun and then secure it in place with a magic hair pin. I love these hair pins for her thick hair. Wrap the second braid around that first one. This helps create a fuller, thicker looking bun. I love how this one turned out and the best part is it takes less than 10 minutes.
