Any friends moving into any of these 25 colleges? Check in on them because these are the colleges where students and parents alike consistently report having awful move-in day experiences. Coming in at No. 8, we have the University of Michigan. Now, given the size of the school, this might not surprise you, but usually they stagger moving over a few different days. However, even with this effort, it is still a chaotic experience. Coming in at No. 7, we have Penn State University. One of the most popular colleges, but if you do not get lucky, it can be a nightmare to move in. No. 6, we have none other than NYU. Now, moving into the thick of any major city when there is a lot of traffic and with very narrow streets to push your bag down can test literally anyone's patience. At No. 5, I feel like it's a tie between UCLA and USC for very similar reasons. And at No. 4 is UC Berkeley. I remember reading how terrible the traffic jams were. At No. 3, and No. 2 for very similar reasons as NYU, we have Texas A&M and UT Austin. Finally, at No. 1, we have the University of Pennsylvania. I've heard so many horror stories of move-in day. Sometimes it is the student's fault and they follow directions and they show up outside of the allocated time for them to move in and they cause traffic jams. However, other times it is crazy things like students getting stuck in the elevator for upwards of two hours or parents leaving their car unattended for literally just 10 seconds and being ticketed. Use the designated parking decks to avoid tickets.
