I just saw a post that said no one plays the victim louder than someone who has caused the damage and the chaos in the first place. And if you're like me, somebody immediately came to mind. You know the person, they created the problem, they crossed the boundary, they caused the hurt. And then the moment you finally responded to it, somehow you became the problem. Now they're telling everybody what you did, but somehow they forgot to mention everything that happened before you finally said, this is enough. And this is where mindset comes in. You have to stop believing that you need to correct every version of the story somebody tells about you, because you drive yourself crazy trying to defend yourself to people who only heard one side of the story and to people who already know what they wanna believe. You know what happened, the other person knows what happened. And sometimes that's going to have to be enough now. And if you were wrong on your part, apologise. That's maturity. But don't take responsibility for somebody's else's behaviour because they're uncomfortable taking responsibility for themselves. And hear this. Setting a boundary in response to someone's behaviour does not make you the cause of the problem. Sometimes people will call your boundary disrespectful because they benefited from you not having one. Let them tell their story. You don't have to chase it down. You don't have to explain yourself to everybody. You don't have to Enter every courtroom you were invited into. Your mindset has to become, I know who I am, I know what happened, and I'm gonna let my character speak louder than their version of the story. Sometimes the person creating the most noise is the person who's hoping nobody looks too close so they can see that they're the one who created the mess. I'm just saying. Have a great day. Love you.
