One of the biggest signs of adult bullying is when somebody has a problem with you, suddenly they need everybody to have a problem with you, too. And that's the part that we don't talk about enough, because two adults could simply not get along. That's life. You don't like me? I mean, it's unfortunate, but okay. I don't have to be everybody's cup of tea. But why are you out there recruiting? Why are you telling everybody your version of what happened? Why are you worrying about who's still talking to me? Why does somebody who's never had an issue with me suddenly start acting different after spending time with you? That's when you need to pay attention. Because sometimes adult bullying isn't somebody coming directly to you. Sometimes it's somebody trying to control how everybody sees you. And the worst thing you can do is start running behind them, trying to clear your name with everybody, because now you're exhausted, trying to defend yourself on conversations that you were never a part of. No, let people think for themselves. People who genuinely know you will recognize what's real. Anybody willing to dislike you based completely on somebody else's story, they were never your people anyway. Have you ever watched somebody's attitude towards you completely change after they started talking to one particular person? Because that experience will have you question everything. Save this if you ever felt pressure to defend yourself to people that never even asked for Your side of the story. And share this with somebody who's been going through this. Two adults having a problem is a conflict. Trying to recruit an audience against somebody, that's something completely different.
