I have a theory as to who KATSEYE is actually marketing to and everyone who's been making like think piece videos about it and talking about it no one has brought this up and I'm actually surprised because I feel like it's actually really obvious why Hybe/Geffen is marketing to this specific audience because there's a reason it makes the most money and there's actually other artists that we've seen do this kind of like marketing tactic as you watch like their recent music video for Hootie Fruity for example you might think that it's a lot more sexual and that they're really like advertising themselves to an adult audience who is like Gen Z right now would be like college aged and they're the same age as the girls in KATSEYE you would think that that's who that Hybe/Geffen wants to market to but that's not true at all and there's actually another artist that made a similar decision recently and it is Katy Perry she obviously had that like millennial audience when she first came out but she kind of lost them in recent years and then I went to her lifetimes tour last summer and I was shocked to see that almost everyone in her audience was like 12 year olds and even her graphics on screen it was like she was like a video game character and I'm like oh my god Katy Perry is marketing to Gen Alpha and I think we're also seeing this with KATSEYE and their marketing obviously they started out a lot more subdued some of the members were underage when they first came out so they were making decisions where their like marketing and stuff was a lot younger just by chance however their recent Hootie Fruity video although it's a lot more sexual I think it's supposed to be like what a kid would think is adult appeal not that they're trying to be sexual to kids but it's like I remember when I was a teenager and I saw Spring Breakers and I'm like whoa that's like the most like sexual thing in the world because that's like what a kid would think or like me in middle school listening to Pussycat Dolls like they weren't really appealing to adults and this really comes through with like the outfits and the bright colors and all you have to do is go to a KATSEYE concert or see them at a festival look around and see what's like the median age of the people that are there if the median age is children then they're marketing to children and one other reason I think this was confirmed is when they created that group Saint Satine they chose the girl who was like 15 instead of the adult girl to be in the group because they want to market to children and I say all this to say that the reason marketing to children works so well is because they have more spending power than a young adult children are still living with their families Gen Z does not have as much spending power anymore because they're young adults in a really bad economy children still live with their families they have spending power. Hybe/Geffen does not give an F about Gen Z. I'm telling you guys they are catering to Gen Alpha and the next thing we're gonna see cats I do soon is they're going to have some sort of Fortnite skin or they're going to have some sort of like Roblox thing they're gonna do something that's very Gen Alpha adjacent and that's just gonna be further confirmation that they are not marketing to Gen Z even though Gen Z is the one that feels the most betrayed by their marketing decisions and feels the most entitled to the creative direction of KATSEYE because they're the same age as them let me know what your guys' thoughts are
