KATSEYE (with the help of Ed Sheeran) is Doing Something Similar to their Strategy with their Last Era

KATSEYE with the help of a very unexpected collaborator Ed Sheeran is doing something very similar to their strategy with their song Gabriela. Katseye last year releasing Gabriela after Gnarly was such a great move because Gnarly was a song that was very polarizing as a lead single. It definitely had some haters, but it got so many people talking about them and really did contribute to the insane breakthrough moment that they had last year. They went from this hyper pop experimental very unserious track Gnarly to a Latin pop soothing track Gabriela, which was the smash hit of the era. And with this new wild EP era, they're kind of doing the same thing. Like they started with Pinky Up, which wasn't as big of a song as Gnarly, but definitely still succeeded in going viral and getting them buzz for this new era with a lot of people liking the song, a lot of people disliking it. But now they're going in a completely different direction with their new single Animal written by Ed Sheeran, which will definitely be the Gabriela of the era. . They get a glimpse here on a. You move like an animal. The extremely catchy chorus, Sophia's ad lib showing off her vocal range. Like, this is what the fans wanna see. It definitely sounds like an Ed Sheeran pop song, which is crazy because you wouldn't expect a song of his to work for Katseye. But then again, he has written for huge artists like Justin Bieber, BTS and one direction. So he definitely knows how to pen for other artists. Going from Pinky Up to Animal is a huge switch up though. And if these two past Katseye eras taught us anything. It's that we shouldn't judge the eras based off the first single because they are absolutely going to give us versatility every time. And until they give us a debut album, I think that's okay. Like I think it is completely fine for them to experiment and figure out what works best for them.
