3 things I gave up to lose 40lbs this year: 1. Feeling sorry for myself. There used to be so many times where I’d think “motherhood is kicking my butt” or “I’m too tired”, which sometimes those things ARE true. But I realized that I can either stay frustrated about how hard this season of life is or I can do my best with the time and energy I DO have. 2. Waiting to feel motivated. The hard truth is, most days you won’t feel like doing it. You have to establish the habit of showing up anyways or else you’re never going to get anywhere. And motivation often comes after you get going. 3. Believing that harder equaled better. I used to kill myself in the gym. If I didn’t leave feeling like I wanted to die, I felt like I wasn’t doing it right. Now, I move my body in a way that leaves me feeling empowered and energized every single day. And I’ve changed my body composition by doing so.
