Last year I lost 90 pounds and I paid off $60,000 of debt. And I did it with the same exact habits. Because if you think about it, your body and your bank account are really using the same exact muscles. So here we go. Number one, look at your numbers every single day. Not obsessively, but knowing your bank account number, knowing the number on the scale, it keeps you from hiding from your reality. Number two, eat before you leave the house. I have found that snacking and drive-through purchases are what keeps you from hitting your weight goals. Number three, stop treating food or clothes spending as an emotional reward instead of something that propels your goals forward instead of a cheat day or a treat day because you had a hard day. Number four, plan tomorrow's spending and eating tonight. Number five, boring time. Boring over excitement keeps you on track. Number six, keep whatever promise you're making to yourself. If you say you're going to work out in the morning, go work out. If you say you're not spending more than $50 over the weekend, don't spend more than $50 over the weekend. Number seven, make your circle. Make sure you're around people who support and encourage your goals. Number eight, track every single dollar you spend and every single thing you eat. Once you start to do this consistently, it becomes it's not really overwhelming. Number nine, get comfortable with saying no that does not fit into my goals right now and you don't owe anyone an apology or explanation for that. Number 10 is my absolute favorite. Start referring to yourself as this person who has accomplished this thing before the results come because something about rewiring your mind, you will get the results. It makes you get the results.
