Welcome to Responsible Adult University where I teach you random shit about adulting in less than a minute. Today I pinky promise I will teach you more about investing than any other finance idiot on this app. And we're moving fast, so please keep up. I'm gonna quickly debunk the myth that you need a bunch of money to invest. No, you don't. You can invest with $1. You can just buy a piece of something. That's called a fractional share. I like to call this micro investing. This is when you invest tiny amounts of money. Think a dollar, think $5. You do it consistently. This is personally how I started investing and it taught me how to invest without any risk. Of risk. If you are scared to invest because of the word risk, I feel you. I was the exact same way. But, stop. You are thinking about investing wrong. As a matter of fact, if you just sit there and never invest, that is a risk because of the 3.4% rate of inflation. Boom. That is the rate of inflation. The goal is to beat that, not be beaten by it. And you can beat it in the stock market. Damn. That was one take. That was a bar. If you don't have an investment account, that's a problem. Hat. I will send you a list to a bunch. You can pick one. Let's keep pushing. Once you open your account, you do not invest in one stock. That is too risky. Like, we don't like risk. You're gonna take your money, small amounts consistently. Every Wednesday, I used to do it every single Wednesday. You're gonna put it into what's called an ETF. That's the fancy term for a basket of stocks. That way, your stock, you're putting your money in a bunch, which makes you diversified. The S&P 500. This is an ETF that covers the top 500 companies in the world. That way, you never have to worry about anything. Tesla, Microsoft, Nvidia, Microsoft, the whole thing. Think about it. You don't have to get fancy. Small amounts consistently. You'll do that, you'll thank me later. Go be a responsible adult for the love of God.
