Save this for your next Pilates class ✨ After 20 years of teaching Pilates, one thing I’ve learnt is that alignment, breathing and control matter far more than simply rushing through the exercises. This is what Pilates should actually feel like 🤍 ✨ Ribs gently connected Think about stacking the rib cage over the pelvis so the diaphragm and deep core can work together more effectively. ✨ Use the forearm to help find neutral pelvis Resting onto the forearm can help you settle the pelvis into a more neutral position, allowing the deep core to switch on without unnecessarily gripping through the hip flexors or lower back. ✨ Keep the pelvis steady as the leg moves The goal isn’t just to lift the leg. It’s to maintain control through the trunk and pelvis while the glutes do the work. These small details are what completely change how an exercise feels and how effectively you perform it. 🤍 Follow for more deep-core and Pilates education ✨ Watch the linked Reel “part 2” where I show you how to find a neutral pelvis 🤎 #Pilates #MatPilates #CoreStrength #PilatesTips #PilatesInstructor
