Claudia Lottering has been missing for several years, and her family is desperately appealing for any information that might help them find her. Born on 15 April 1995 and originally from East London, Claudia moved to Cape Town around 2019 to take up work as a housekeeper for a Muslim family in Bellville. At the time she left home, relatives in East London last saw her in 2020 as she set off for the city in search of employment. The family once had a contact number for the household she worked for, but that number is no longer in use, and they have no remaining details about the family or any agency that may have arranged the placement. The last time anyone in the family spoke to Claudia was sometime in 2022. Since that final conversation, there has been complete silence, no calls, no messages, and no activity on any social media platforms. She simply disappeared, and no one has heard from her since. Claudia has no known medical conditions, and her family possesses almost no further personal information or belongings that could assist in identifying her. Despite their repeated efforts to seek help, no formal missing-person case has been opened with the police. When they approached Ocean View police station, they were told that without additional details the authorities were unable to assist them further. Candice Lottering, Claudia’s sister, and their mother Karen Lottering have already reached out to numerous platforms in the hope of generating leads, yet so far they have received no meaningful response. They are now turning to the public with a heartfelt plea: if this message reaches anyone who lives in or around Bellville, Cape Town, or who employed domestic workers from the Eastern Cape between 2019 and 2022, please take a moment to consider whether you might recognise Claudia or remember anything about her. Even the smallest detail, a former employer, a neighbour, a fellow worker, or a possible sighting after 2022, could prove vital. The family simply wants to know that Claudia is safe and to re-establish contact after these long years of silence. They have no trace of her and are appealing to anyone who may hold even a fragment of information.
