Burnout usually builds slowly. Stage 1: you’re motivated, ambitious and taking on more. Stage 2: stress starts building. You work more, worry more and become easier to irritate. Stage 3: stress becomes chronic. You start neglecting yourself and running on empty. Stage 4: your body starts making it much harder to keep functioning, stress starts showing up physically. Here are 10 physical symptoms people notice at this point 🔽 ——— Hi, I’m Sasha 👋 Together with a doctor, I’m building Anticipate App for chronic stress and burnout. It helps you: • track your patterns • spot burnout early • build recovery into your days Download it now 🤍 ——— 1. Exhaustion that sleep doesn’t fix. You can sleep for 8–9 hours and still wake up feeling completely drained. 2. Headaches and constant muscle tension. Your jaw, neck, shoulders or back can feel permanently tight, and headaches start becoming part of your normal week. 3. Heart palpitations or a racing heart. You’re sitting still, but your heart suddenly feels like it’s pounding, fluttering or beating too fast. 4. Dizziness or feeling light-headed. Walking around or even standing still can leave you feeling floaty, shaky or slightly off-balance. 5. Digestive problems. Nausea, reflux, bloating, stomach pain, diarrhoea, constipation or appetite changes can become much more noticeable. 6. Feeling short of breath. You’re breathing, but it never feels quite satisfying, so you keep sighing, yawning or trying to take a deeper breath. 7. Broken sleep. You’re exhausted, but you wake in the night, struggle to fall back asleep or feel strangely wired when you should be resting. 8. Shaking or twitching. Trembling hands, eyelid twitches, muscle spasms or that strange internal vibrating feeling can start showing up. 9. Feeling constantly run-down. Another cold. Another sore throat. Another weekend spent trying to recover. 10. Your body feels permanently “on”. Clenched jaw. Tight chest. Raised shoulders. Restlessness. Even when nothing is happening, your body still feels like it’s bracing for something. By stage 4 is that these symptoms stop feeling occasional. They start becoming your baseline. “OKAY, BUT I CAN’T JUST REMOVE ALL THE STRESS FROM MY LIFE.” You probably can’t. But you can start noticing what makes your symptoms worse, reduce the stressors you can control, and make recovery something you actively protect instead of waiting until you crash. I’m building Anticipate App to help with it. Search “Anticipate” on the App Store. 🤍 #burnout #burnoutprevention #MentalHealth #mentalhealthmatters #takecareofyou
