Anathi Maguga, a 29-year-old businesswoman from Gqeberha who specialised in baking cakes, has been found dead in bushes after she went missing on Thursday evening. The news has left her community in deep sorrow as details surrounding her final hours continue to raise serious questions. According to reports, Anathi was with her cousin when she received a phone call at around 6 PM. She left shortly afterwards and was never seen alive again. Her vehicle was later discovered in NU5, Motherwell, with no sign of her inside. In the days that followed, community members and a local ward councillor joined the search efforts. Those efforts ended in heartbreak when her body was found in a forest. What has added further concern is the claim that someone continued to access her Facebook and WhatsApp accounts after she disappeared. The accounts reportedly appeared online repeatedly before going offline, yet it remains unclear who was using them. These details have left many asking for a thorough investigation into the circumstances of her disappearance and death. Anathi built a cake business that brought joy to others. In the wake of this tragedy, people are being encouraged to look at the work she did and the business she created. Her life was more than the way it ended, she was a young woman who used her skill to serve her community and make a living for herself. To her family, friends and everyone who loved her: our deepest condolences. May you find strength and comfort in this painful time. The questions that remain around her last movements, her vehicle, and the activity on her accounts deserve clear answers. Families should not have to bury their loved ones while still searching for the truth. We stand with Anathi’s loved ones and with every person who is grieving her loss. May her memory be honoured, and may those responsible be brought to account. Rest in peace, Anathi. Your light will not be forgotten. #JustAdvocacy #AnathiMaguga #JusticeForAnathi #Gqeberha #MissingPersons
