HOW TO SELL IMPOSSIBLE PROSPECTS WITH PATTERN INTERRUPTS

if your cold calls always end up like this hey this is Troy with ABC Software yeah not interested yeah I know you weren't expecting my call but if you give me 30 seconds to explain why I'm calling nah how about zero seconds I just told you I'm not interested man it sounds like you're getting a bunch of people wasting your time with phone calls would you like me to make a note so we stop calling you for a while yeah please do alright no problem just need to ask you a couple quick questions just so I can prove to my boss that I didn't just take you off the list about at least trying how many sales people do you guys have over there we have 43 alright and if you were to ballpark how many out of those 43 are hitting their sales targets consistently what would you say oh no probably a little over half of them alright last question what do you think is causing the other half to be missing their target I don't know they just aren't following our process the way the other ones are that are hitting the target um make that note for you but just so you know prestige worldwide who's one of y'all's competitors had the exact same issue and we were able to get them from just half their team hitting target to eighty percent of their team hitting target within three months of working with us sounds like you're busy but if you'd like I can show you how we did it some other time uh do you have a spare thirty minutes for that tomorrow or would later in the week be better now if you've ever cold called before you're probably thinking that guy would have got off the phone way before I ever could have asked any of those questions and you're right most of the time but they were about to get off the phone anyway this works some of the time even with the type of prospects that have been impossible for you to be able to close historically because it's a pattern interrupt aspects are conditioned to expect salespeople to continue to try to sell them the last thing that they're expecting a salesperson to do is the exact opposite and say man it sounds like you're getting bugged by people like me cold calling you all day because they're not expecting what you just said and because you're offering to give them something that they actually want they're willing to give you more of a conversation that they ever would have given you in the past and if you use that opportunity to ask the right questions that will collect enough ammo so you can present a solution and go for the close on a meeting you will be able to book a few of the type of prospect that was impossible for you to book in the past you're not looking to book all of them you're looking to book 10 to 15% of something that used to be 0% and that's what sales is all about finding the incredibly low conversion rates the areas where people say it's impossible there's no way you're gonna be able to book that type of prospect and lift that conversion rate not a crazy unrealistic amount just a little bit and if you do that enough with enough things in your sales process you become extraordinary compared to everybody else around you that gives up on things that feel like they're impossible when they're really just improbable follow me for more tips on how to up your sales game
