So as most of you guys know, uh, Huda has been dropped from a lot of her sponsorships and brand deals. Um, most recently, Huda Beauty came out with a statement. Um, here's what I will say, cause I don't feel bad for the brands at all. I don't feel that they actually cared. Um, but let me tell you, let me tell you the difference between good brands and great brands who have good influencer marketing departments, great brand strategy teams, all of those things. Now, when you are selecting an influencer, the most important thing that you have to do is make sure, is this person reliable and stable? What do I mean by that? What are they typically wrapped up in? Are they always in drama? Are they always getting canceled? Are they somebody prone to getting canceled? Also a big difference between who can I use for pop culture just to make a statement versus who has longevity. Look at the type of influencers that Laneige uses. I've used this example several times, but back in, I want to say maybe a year or two ago, maybe almost three, um, Laneige did a, you know, brand trip and they've done several brand trips and brand events and the type of people that go there are on a certain level. You're not going to see the people that randomly made it on the internet for their and had their five minutes of fame. You're not going to see that. You're going to see people who are trusted, have been in the game, who have been influencers for a long time and that they they know their audience and they know that this is a person that we can trust because they are a steady person. We don't see them saying polarizing things, we don't see them trying to cause havoc, right? For all the brands that decided to work with Huda, y'all literally got to see this girl in action be toxic time after time after time after time. And instead of saying, is this somebody that we could really have a long-term partnership with? Because mind you, this girl has six to seven figure deals. Six to seven figure deals in the influencer world means that these are long-term partnerships. You decided to do a long-time long-term partnership with somebody who was literally not very unpredictable. The worst thing that you can do in an influencer marketing department is hire someone who is unpredictable for a long-term partnership. So at the end of the day, I don't feel bad for these brands. Um, I feel like this was obvious. Um, if I was working in these departments, there would be no thought that went through my head that said, oh, let's work with Huda on anything because once again, longevity is what is going to help you with the test of time. All it takes, people remember bad press over good press all the time. And now that they've gotten backlash about this with Huda Beauty, now you're getting canceled based off of someone else's actions when it didn't have to go that way. So let me know y'all's thoughts. Um, like I said, just from an influencer marketing perspective, this was literally a no-brainer and I feel like this was bound to happen, but that's just me.
