Ralph Lauren, whoever was in charge of this collection and this campaign, I need them to have a title change and a raise swiftly. I have not been, what's a good word? I have not been delighted by something in a very long time and I feel like that's the right word because I rarely use that word. This was just a delight to see because this is such a niched thing in a sense. And what I mean by niched is, is when people typically think of Black Americans, when we say the term Black Americans, this is not immediately what most people think of. And to highlight the story and the history behind, you know, Black leisure and Martha's Vineyard and all those things, I'm just so taken back. Like this was so thoughtfully and tastefully done. Like I have no notes. Y'all know me, I'm rarely have no notes about anything. I have no notes. Um, and somebody who black who works in branding, it's like I'm always paying close attention to like how people tell stories and the power of storytelling within a brand. And I think where a lot of people go wrong is people think that having a story as a brand means that you're sharing your story. But sometimes you're sharing the story of others and connecting them to the brand. And I've talked about this before, how is your brand connecting to culture? I've said this so many times. Um, societal culture, however you want to paint it, trends, whatever is going on, how can you do that and it makes sense? I think for a lot of us, this feels tasteful, delightful, whatever you want to say because when we think of Ralph Lauren, we do think of leisure, we do think of like, we have this picture painted in our head. And Martha's Vineyard and the history behind that is like a perfect connection. You get what I'm saying? So that's where a lot of brands and a lot of founders and a lot of entrepreneurs are going wrong when building brands. It's about how are we connecting our own story to culture. Now, Ralph Lauren, please don't get in any scandals after this. Look, I know everybody had their fair share of scandals that are rents. I don't want to see nothing else, okay? Because I do not want to have to take this video down. But this was truly something creative and something monumental. So no to take away from this as a brand founder or somebody who is building a brand is how can I connect my brand to culture, story, and truth so eloquently that it makes sense for my brand? Hats off to Ralph Lauren, y'all did your big one. I love it.
