Rockstar Games just pissed off the entire world. But I'm not gonna lie, it's a genius marketing move. So if you somehow haven't seen this yet, Rockstar Games just put out a tweet saying that they are delaying the release of GTA 6 until November 19th, 2026. Essentially saying that they're still way behind in the project, they have to catch up so they can deliver it with the polish that you expect and deserve. In the surface level take, that the gamers are pissed and the stock is tanking, and everything's just a disaster. It's a nightmare. But the fact of the matter is, it's a power play marketing move by Rockstar. If you think about it, by the way, if you want to learn how to make better content and be a better marketer, make sure you're following now. Yes, they do need, they're definitely behind on their deadlines. But this is the most highly coveted, long awaited game ever, of all time. Learn from Cyberpunk. If you put out a terrible game that's long, you are going to ruin your multi-billion dollar reputation. This is a multi-million dollar ad of them, our brand is legendary quality. We don't give a shit about deadlines or what you expect. We're going to do it right. Delaying the game another six months is just going to build that much more momentum and that many more people to buy the game. How does it suck? Obviously, if they stuck to that, made that line, they put out a game that wasn't finished to everyone's expectations, they would get so much shit for it. So whether you like it or not, it's a smart move and even better marketing.
