TikTok has been saved! Officially saved by the richest man in the world. So this man right here is Larry Ellison and he's the owner of Oracle and now one third owner of TikTok, TikTok US at least. And as of yesterday, the US, China and President Trump reached a deal to make a new TikTok US app. And the owners of TikTok US include Oracle, Silver Lake and Andreessen Horowitz who will now work under an 80/20 framework with ByteDance which is TikTok's parent company. 80% of TikTok US is going to be owned by these companies right here and 20% still by China, basically just ByteDance. There's going to be an American board with US government oversight and a new US-only TikTok app with a separate algorithm from the TikTok that we're on right now. This isn't just a sale, it's a complete rebuild. US users will download a new app that looks identical to current TikTok but runs entirely on American infrastructure with US-controlled algorithms. ByteDance licenses their technology but loses operational control. The result: TikTok survives, creators keep audiences, Washington gets data control. And most importantly, Washington gets data control, of course. Now obviously this is amazing news because TikTok isn't going to go anywhere. However, I do wonder how things are going to change when it comes to monetization, what videos are actually pushed, if, you know, there's certain types of content that they don't like, we're only going to see. But I suppose this option is better than TikTok being banned entirely, so way to go Larry and all the other partners. Let me know what you think though, is TikTok going to change a lot or will it just stay exactly the same?
