Makeup is one of the best ways for pop girls to solidify their brand and right now nobody is doing a better job at it than Zara Larsson. I love makeup and pop culture so I thought why not start a series where I dissect iconic makeup styles of my favorite artists. Zara's Midnight Sun tour looks done by her makeup artist Sophia have been going viral and rightfully so. They're so fun and colorful and they tie in perfectly with the album aesthetic. If you're on the younger side you may think Midnight Sun is Zara's breakout album but she's been around for a while. I had her album so good on repeat my freshman year of college and even though she's always had the hits, I feel like she hasn't really had a consistent brand up until the viral dolphin meme to her song Symphony blew up on social media. After that she really embraced that vibrant summer aesthetic especially with her makeup looks. One of my favorite things about these looks is Sophia goes all in on them. It's not just regular makeup looks with a pop of color. It's the colorful eyeshadow, the cut creases, the rhinestones, the glitter, all of it. And though the looks are all distinct, they're also cohesive to the point where you can look at them and say that looks like Zara Larsson's makeup. And though it's freezing in New York right now, doing this Zara Larsson inspired look really made me feel like summer and not end.
