If you're non-technical, you really need to be paying attention to Claude Code. If you're new here, I talk about the human side of AI. Despite the name, Claude Code isn't really about coding. Right now, most of us are used to a two-way text conversation with AI, where we send a message, AI responds, and then we send a message back and AI responds again. Claude Code marks a first step towards a new reality, where we give AI a goal, and it goes off in the background and does the work, even if we're not at our computer. Today, it's mostly software engineers using it for coding, but it can do almost anything on a computer that a human can do. That means reading files, creating and organizing documents, and even browsing the internet. In the coming year, I think we'll find many of the same principles behind Claude Code making its way into other products for non-technical people. If you want to get ahead and try out Claude Code as a non-technical person, I'll add a few examples to my Substack for you.
