If you run lead gen ads, don't make this mistake. If your marketing agency uses thank you pages to track conversions for clients, I just wanna say a prayer for you because that shit will not work this year. And here's why. Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, Reddit, wherever you run ads, these platforms need data to find you more customers. Okay? So if your agency runs traffic to a landing page where people can book a call, sign up for an appointment, get a demo, whatever it is, and all you send back to the ad platforms is a yes they converted or no they didn't, how the fuck are they supposed to find you more customers? Let me give you an example. Let's say you run a landscaping company and you hire a sales rep to go door-to-door and try to get you business. He starts doing it, he's getting you some leads, they're calling your office, and a few of them even book a job. It's working, right? You're getting business. Now, your sales rep comes back to you at the end of the day and says, how'd it go, boss? Did we get some business? And all you say is, yeah, we got two jobs. They might be like, okay, cool, so what I'm doing is kind of working. But they'll probably be like, okay, what neighborhoods was it in? What time of day did I call? Was it a boy or a girl? Were they young or they old? How much money did they spend? What other things did they talk about? Things that you would need to know as a sales rep to go look for more people like that so you could stop wasting your time and your business's money just going door-to-door and fucking off and hoping that somebody converts. That is what the ad platforms are. They need the person's email, first name, last name, phone, city, state, street address, zip code, I.P. Address, device, browser, as many things as possible to figure out exactly who this person is and how they can find more people like that person with all the trillions of data points they have to get your client more customers. So again, if you're using a thank you page to track conversions for your clients, you are messing up, and I mean that in the nicest way possible. And you need to figure out a way to start extracting data from the form and sending it to ad platforms, or this is going to be a long year for you.
