Restrictive eating takes you out of your body. Is that generally linked back to a specific trauma? So most people that find themselves getting into restrictive eating, there's a couple things I find. One thing is obvious social conditioning, but there's some deeper, more subconscious, if we throw that out of the way, think of the stimulating effect. So skipping meals or restricting meals will give you a fight or flight response. It's going to boost your energy temporarily. It's going to give you a lot of clarity and cognitive focus, but it's also going to dissociate you. Dissociation is when you can no longer perceive what you carry. So there's some emotion, there's some pain from childhood, from what happened this morning at home that you haven't been with. Restricting your food literally takes you out of your body. Wow. And I've worked with restrictive eating for a long time. And what I really find interesting is when they eat food, especially balancers, they feel their body, the food anchors them back in. Wow.
