So if you have the Chase Sapphire prefer, a lot actually just changed. Some of its great, but one part not so much. Let me start with the good. Chase kept the annual fee at $95 and added a bunch of stuff. The hotel credit doubled from $50 to $100 a year. They added a $120 global entry or TSA pre-check credits every four years. On top of the current reward multipliers, you're now getting three X points on gas and EV charging and three X on vacation rentals, so that's like Airbnb, VRBO, places like that. There's also a free year of Apple TV if you activate before the end of 2026 and they also added emergency evacuation coverage up to $100,000. But here's the part that has people like so upset. Chase cut the high unit transfer ratio from one to one down to four to three. So if you transfer four chase points to high it, you only get three high points back. Where the record, the Safari Reserve still keeps the one to one high it ratio at least for now. If you're an existing card holder, that high it change actually hits October 1st later this year, but new applicants after June 15th get that worst 4-3 ratio right away. All other changes on the Safari preferred going to effect live on June 15th. Also that 10% anniversary point bonus is ending October first.
