Their other posts in the index, biggest breakout first.
I bought a house when I was making only $55,000 a year, so here's what my monthly mortgage payments actually look like. I got promoted shortly after buying my house, which made my monthly payments a lot more affordable. My first year, my monthly mortgage payment was actually pretty high because of escrow. If you don't know, escrow is a third-party company that will take your home insurance and your property taxes outside of your principal and interest and save it for you for the full year. They just add it on top of your principal and interest payments every month, so it's one lump sum. Because I bought a new build property though, they didn't know what the property taxes were going to be for the first year, so their estimation was really high. So for the first year, my monthly mortgage payment was $1,722.86. For my second year, escrow actually decided they took out too much money from the previous year, so they actually reduced my payment to $1,573.02. And more recently, June is the start of my third year of home ownership, and they have now changed my payment to $1,791.75. So all in all, my home payments have stayed pretty much in the same range within the last three years, but I am curious how this compares to others, so feel free to drop it in the comments if you want to share.
