99% of people applying for jobs right now don't do this. But if you have just applied for a job, go onto LinkedIn and see if you can find who the hiring manager is. For example, if it's a marketing role, go and look for the most senior person within marketing at that organisation who might probably well be hiring that role. See if you can find the head of marketing, the marketing manager, the CMO, whoever it is. Connect with them on LinkedIn and send a quick message saying, just applied, really interested in this role because of X, Y, Z, and I think my skills meet your specification because of X, Y, Z as well. Right now we are sifting through over 300 CVs, more than 300 CVs. One person has reached out to me directly on LinkedIn, and what did I do immediately after that? I went and dug out her application and I reviewed it again. It's such a simple thing, but so many people don't do it.
