I don't think any of us have noticed the future of R.E.M. Beauty. I don't think this palette was ever just a limited edition product. I think it was a proof of concept. Here's why. Over the last year, R.E.M. Beauty has been slowly retiring some of their highlighter shades. And on the R.E.M. Beauty website, there was only three available and Miss Saturn was heavily discounted. This is what I find interesting because Ariana Grande has repeatedly said that Miss Mercury is one of her favorite products and uses it on her face every day. So I don't think the highlighting formula is going anywhere, but I think the packaging is. Look at the Wicked For Good blush palette. Instead of selling a blush and a highlighter separately, they gave us three formulas in one compact. A matte blush, a mélange, which is a blush and highlight powder formula, and then a highlight. My theory is that this was imagining an entirely new cheek system. Imagine taking Pinking of You, adding a powder mélange that bridges the blush into a highlight, and then finishing with Miss Mercury. Everything you need on your cheeks, but in one palette. And it wouldn't have to stop at blush. Imagine a bronzer, like this is in Solar Storm, and then you add a powder mélange and a corresponding highlighter, this is Miss Jupiter. Holy pigment. Ariana, why were these retired? Again, that would be three products, one compact. Now, obviously, I have zero insider information. This is just coming from someone who's spent a lot of time watching what R.E.M. Beauty is silently discontinuing and retiring. But if they launch these tomorrow, I'd buy every single one. What do you guys think? Theory or prediction? And if something like this did launch, would you buy them?
