Nobody taught us women this and it shows. 1️⃣ Open a savings account that is not connected to your main account and automate a fixed amount into it every month. If you have to manually move the money, you will spend it. 2️⃣ Never let a relationship become the reason you stop earning your own money. Love does not pay rent when things fall apart and they sometimes fall apart. 3️⃣ Know your monthly number. What it costs you to live. Rent, food, transport, bills. If you do not know this number you cannot make a real financial decision. 4️⃣ A man who knows you have no financial safety net has more power over you than you realize. Your savings account is not just money. It is options. 5️⃣ Learn the difference between an asset and a liability before you make your next big purchase. One builds wealth while you sleep. The other drains it. 6️⃣ If you are the higher earner in your relationship, that is not something to hide or downplay. A secure man will not be threatened by it. 7️⃣ Invest before you feel ready. A stocks and shares ISA, an ETF, a pension contribution. Start with whatever you can. Time in the market beats timing the market every time. 8️⃣ Your credit score is your financial reputation. Check it, understand it, and protect it like it matters. Because it does. 9️⃣ Splitting finances equally in a relationship only works when income is equal. Have the conversation before you move in together, not after. 🔟 The goal is not to be rich. The goal is to never be financially trapped. Build toward freedom, not just comfort.
