If you ever get a question about being proficient in Excel in interviews, this is what I want you to hit. When you go into your data set, I want you to hit Alt+N+V+T+Enter to create this pivot table automatically. The thing I like to do is go into the pivot table, right click it and go to PivotTable Options, then go to Display and where you're going to hit the classic pivot table layout, rather than just dragging and dropping them on the right hand side, you can drag and drop them directly into the pivot table the way that you want them.
