So I just returned a brand new but defective 300 dollar lawn mower from Walmart.com. But on my second time using it, white smoke started pouring out of the side. Then it idled really slow and wouldn't mow anymore. So I processed a return through the app. And these are the instructions I got. Pack all items in one box and bring it to the customer service desk. No Box? We will pack it for you in-store. No problem. We'll pack it up for you in-store. I didn't have the box anymore, so I did what it said last night and brought it in. But when we got to the customer service desk, the guy working there was angry with us because there was still gas and oil in it. He treated me like I was stupid into that they could not accept it like that. So because the closest Walmart is 30 minutes from our house, we went back out to the truck and dumped all of the oil and gas into a coffee cup we had. And yes, a little bit spilled on the side of the mower. But we did the best that we could. After this, we went back inside with it. And another girl who was working there let us return it. Then after that, we did the rest of our shopping. But then as we go to leave, this first guy who treated me like I was dumb came up to my wife and I and started yelling at me. He said that there was gas everywhere and treated me like I was a criminal. And that they could lose their jobs because of me. But I'm just curious what you guys think? Am I in the wrong as a customer for not knowing this stuff ahead of time and properly returning it into the store? Or is Walmart in the wrong for how they treated me?
