on a 36,000 pound teacher salary and I'm on track to retire a millionaire by the age of 53.2 without earning any extra income. Just learn how to actually invest and now I'm teaching you. Here are some investing terms that are everywhere but no one actually explains. Number one, stocks and shares ISA. This is a type of account that you can use to invest. It's the one that I would use because in the UK you don't pay any tax on investment growth within a stocks and shares ISA. Number two, ETFs, exchange traded funds. An ETF is basically a basket full of lots of different companies that you can invest in. Think of it as buying a pick and mix instead of buying a full bag of giant strawberries. Number three, inflation. Inflation basically means things get more expensive over time. So the same amount of money buys less over time. Think of Heinz Beanz. 20 years ago a tin cost 52p and now it costs 1.40 for the exact same tin. Number four, compound interest. Compound interest is when your money earns money, and then the money that you earn starts earning money too. So say you have 100 pounds and you earn 10% now you have 110 pounds and you'll earn 10% on that over time. As this happens more and more, it gets huge. Comment ‘educate’ or tell me any more investment terms that you want to know for next.
