What if I told you that behaviour management strategies work on men too? I'm a teacher who's trained in behaviour management and here are the strategies that I use on men everyday. The first is positive praise before a negative reminder. For example, if he's constantly leaving his clothes on the floor and you want him to stop, say "I love your outfit today, you styled it so well." Oh, and when you take it off, would you mind just putting it in the washing basket? Trust me, positive reinforcement works better on men than children. The second is use a consistent behaviour management strategy. I like to use a reward system, so if he buys me flowers or takes me on a date, I will reward him by giving him a massage or watching the football with him. The key to this is being consistent. And next, praise in public but reprimand in private. For example, if I'm not happy with something but we're in public, I'll ignore it in the moment and then I'll approach it when we're alone by letting them know, look, I wasn't very happy with that, giving you a warning. Trust me, they'll respond better to that.
