I saw some people talking about the Callaway and Good Good Golf partnership ad that was recently but I need you to understand genuinely how bad that entire thing was. If you haven't seen it, the quick and dirty is that it is essentially people out golfing, and a woman goes to grab this man's golf clubs, and he literally hits her to the ground, stands over her, and threatens her. The ad ends with, you've been warned. It is DV against women. Callaway is worth $2.8 billion. That is a massive company, which most definitely has a lot of people working within it. I don't know much about Good Good Golf, but Callaway has a legal team, they have a social media team. Within the social media team, there's at least five or six people, all who had to have seen and approved this idea, were not even including the actors and the people involved in actually creating the advertisement. All of which seems completely fine with this. That this is Sydney Sweeney from last year, because at least with that one, you may not have history of that phrasing, you hear it and you just saw it looked like a jeans ad. But with this one, it is straightforward. The man is literally bodying a woman onto the ground, standing over her. It ends with, you've been warned. It's important for me to emphasize that this is so obviously in your face, but also how big the company's size is. Because if this small company or two people in the social media department and they didn't get it approved by the owner, the CEO, you could fire those two people. But this is a multi billion dollar corporation that has a variety of people constantly looking out for these things. Which means this was either intentionally approved or this was some form of gross negligence. That is still not acceptable at that level. Please keep all of this in mind as Callaway and continue on their apology tour, because their main focus is going sure that their sales are okay, not actually fixing the problem.
