The most expensive thing you can do in your 30s is wait. Millennial women between 31 and 41. If you work in corporate, start these 10 habits before it is too late: 1️⃣ Calculate your exact hourly rate as a salaried employee. Then look at how much unpaid overtime you give away every week. That number will change how you negotiate. 2️⃣ Ask your company's top performer what they do that you do not. Not your manager's version. Go directly to that person. 3️⃣ Book your annual health appointments in January. Blood work, gynecologist, dentist. If they are not in your calendar by February they will not happen this year. 4️⃣ Set up auto-invest before the month starts. Not with what is left after bills. Before. 5️⃣ Write down your non-negotiables in a relationship before you meet someone new. After feelings are involved is too late to think clearly. 6️⃣ Build a personal board of directors. One person who challenges your thinking. One who has done what you want to do. One who knows the industry you want to enter. One mentor is not enough. 7️⃣ Send one short email per month to someone above your direct manager sharing a result you delivered. Not a question. A result. That is how you exist in rooms you are not in. 8️⃣ Before your next salary conversation, find out what three other companies pay for your role. Walk in knowing your number from the outside, not just what your company tells you you are worth. 9️⃣ Protect one morning per week where your phone stays off until 9am. Your nervous system needs at least one slow start. 🔟 Say no to one commitment per month that adds nothing to your career, your income, or your energy. Practice the no before you desperately need it.
