A customer brought me this iPhone because it had suddenly stopped charging. At first, he thought the charging port was just dirty. But then he told me something important: he had lost his original charger and bought the cheapest replacement he could find for around two dollars. It worked perfectly at first, then the iPhone started getting extremely hot whenever he plugged it in. Eventually, charging became inconsistent, and one morning the phone refused to charge completely. Another repair shop told him he needed a new charging port. When I opened the phone and started inspecting everything, I realized the problem was more complicated. I removed the screen, disconnected the battery, and examined the charging components inside. Something had clearly been damaged. So instead of replacing the entire phone, I started working directly on the affected components. I cleaned the area and carefully reassembled everything. Then came the important test: I plugged the iPhone into a charger. Nothing happened for a few seconds, then the screen turned on. The phone was charging again. But here's the crazy part: the customer told me the guy who sold him the two-dollar charger claimed it was completely safe and identical to a thirty-dollar charger. So he went back to the same store with the damaged charger, they refused to refund him and said if it damaged your phone, prove it. Now the customer wants the store to pay his entire repair bill. Would you make them pay?
