A girl came into my shop with this tablet after her parents intentionally destroyed the screen. And the reason they did it was insane. The tablet itself was still working, completely unusable. They asked me if I could save it instead of spending hundreds of dollars replacing the entire device. I told them there was a chance. What they didn't tell was that they were getting it repaired. Her tablet was permanently gone. I started working on the destroyed display. The repair took much longer than expected, but eventually, I managed and got the tablet running normally again. Everything responded properly, the image looked clean, and somehow the device had survived the whole situation. Her parents picked it up, but instead of immediately giving it back to her, they told me they would keep it hidden until her birthday and planned to surprise her with the exact tablet she thought they had destroyed.
