A guy walked into my shop with an Apple Watch that looked like it had been completely destroyed. The screen was shattered, but when I asked him how it happened, he told me something I definitely wasn't expecting. He broke it himself, apparently. His girlfriend had bought him a brand new Apple Watch for his birthday. A few weeks later, they got into an argument, and she had secretly bought a refurbished watch instead of a new one. He thought she was lying just to annoy him. So during the argument, he smashed the watch, didn't care because he would just buy another one. The next morning, he regretted everything. Instead of spending hundreds on another watch, he brought the destroyed one to me. Was any chance I could save it? The watch itself was still alive. The main problem was the completely shattered glass on top of the display. So I agreed to try. The repair was much more complicated than he expected. The display had to be separated, cleaned, and worked on with specialized equipment before fresh glass could be installed. After almost 3 hours, I finally rebuilt everything and turned the watch back on. It worked perfectly. But when the customer came back, I showed him something that made the whole argument even worse. There was nothing about the repair that proved his girlfriend had given him some worthless fake watch. So he had smashed a perfectly repairable Apple Watch during something he couldn't even prove. He paid me to put his watch back on his wrist and said, "You fixed it. Would you tell his girlfriend? Would you tell his girlfriend?
