A customer walked into my shop with this Apple Watch. Could save it. The screen was damaged, but do wait, the watch itself still seemed worth repairing. Something strange. It wasn't actually his. He had found it on the ground outside a shopping centre almost two months earlier. He waited for someone to come looking for it, but nobody ever did. Eventually, he decided to spend $200 getting the screen repaired it for himself. After the damaged glass, the display was restored. The watch finally looked normal again. Everything seemed perfect until it turned back on. There was still information from the original owner. I told the customer that if we could identify the owner, the right thing would probably be to return the watch. He completely disagreed. According to him, he had found it, kept it for two the repair, so it was basically his now. And he asked if I could erase everything and make it his. I refused. He got angry and said that if I keep it, he wanted his repair money back. Now we have a repaired Apple Watch and potentially two people claiming it belongs to them. Who deserves the watch? The original owner or the guy who found it and paid to repair it?
