Matt Gaetz has thoughts about Canada. And Canada apparently has thoughts about Matt Gaetz having thoughts about Canada. 😂🇨🇦 Now, I’m going to clean up the viral response because facts still matter when the joke is this good: A bipartisan House Ethics Committee investigation concluded there was substantial evidence that Gaetz paid women for sex and had sex with a 17-year-old girl while he was a member of Congress. The Committee’s report also documented payments made through Venmo and other payment apps connected to the women involved. Gaetz has denied wrongdoing, and federal prosecutors ultimately did not charge him. So perhaps—perhaps—the former congressman isn’t ideally positioned to climb onto the moral high ground and announce that he’s pleased somebody is finally “standing up to Canada.” Especially right now. Trump’s escalating trade fight has brought new 50% tariffs, Canadian retaliation, threats against Canadian sovereignty and a spectacular deterioration in relations with one of America’s closest allies. And Canada seems increasingly to be responding with the diplomatic equivalent of: 🇨🇦 We heard you. 🇨🇦 We considered your concerns. 🇨🇦 Respectfully, get bent. There’s something uniquely Canadian about remaining relatively polite while simultaneously making it abundantly clear that you’ve exhausted their final fuck. And speaking as a Mainer: Do you understand how badly you have to behave before CANADA decides you’re the asshole? They’re practically family up here. Maybe stop picking fights with the neighbors who supply your oil, electricity, aluminum, potash and approximately 40% of northern New England’s emotional support. 😂 #Canada #MattGaetz #TrumpTariffs #USCanada #PoliticalSatire
