The Swiss summer forecast comes from how long it takes a snowman's head to explode ⛄🔥 📍 Sechseläutenplatz, Zürich, Switzerland Every third Monday of April, Zurich's guilds parade through the city in historic dress and, at 6pm on the dot, set fire to a 3.4-metre snowman called the Böögg whose head is packed with fireworks. The time it takes to blow is read as the summer forecast: under 15 minutes means a hot one. MeteoSwiss has checked: there is no correlation. How to do it: 1. 2027 date is Monday April 19. Parade from 3pm down Bahnhofstrasse and along Limmatquai; the burn is at 6pm on Sechseläutenplatz by the lake. Free. 2. The square fills hours early. Bürkliplatz and the Quaibrücke are the fallback views. 3. Children's parade is the Sunday before, 2:30pm, up to 3,000 kids in costume. 4. After the head goes, people grill sausages on the embers. Bring your own. Send this video to Mio and it'll pin the square onto your own travel map. 🗺️ #Sechseläuten #Zurich #Switzerlandchristmas #Böögg #swisstraditions
