Ever finish a long run and notice one of your toenails turning black? 🏃♂️🏃♀️ It’s actually pretty common among distance runners, especially when training for half marathons or marathons. Repeated pressure inside your running shoes can damage tiny blood vessels beneath the nail, causing blood to collect and turn it dark purple or black. The good news is that you can lower your chances of dealing with this by making sure your running shoes fit properly and keeping your toenails trimmed. Sometimes even a small adjustment to your shoe lacing can make a difference! Most minor bruised toenails heal with time, but unexplained discoloration or severe pain shouldn't be ignored. Have you ever lost a toenail from running? 😭 Let us know how many miles you were running when it happened! #Running #RunningCommunity #MarathonTraining #Run #Runner
