Earlier tonight, Angelique Yaya Munnick and her three alleged accomplices were arrested in connection with the Eldorado Park e-hailing robbery and shooting. The dashcam footage that went viral yesterday showed the brazen setup, the robbery of the driver’s belongings, and the chilling commands of “Shoot him! Shoot him!” as he fled. That evidence, combined with public pressure and police action, has now led to all four suspects being taken into custody. This is an important step, but it is only the beginning. JustAdvocacy calls on the justice system to ensure this case is handled thoroughly and without delay. The driver deserves full accountability. Every e-hailing driver who faces daily risks deserves to know that those who use ride requests as bait for violence will face serious consequences. We urge the National Prosecuting Authority and the courts to oppose bail where the evidence supports it, to prioritise the victim’s recovery and safety, and to pursue the strongest possible charges. Communities across South Africa are watching. The viral footage means this case cannot be quietly reduced or delayed. To the driver and his family: we stand with you. To SAPS: thank you for moving quickly. To the public: keep sharing updates and supporting the call for justice. Arrests are progress. Real justice means seeing this matter through to a fair and firm conclusion. Share this update so the case stays in the spotlight. ##JustAdvocacy##EldoradoPark##Arrested##JusticeForTheDriver
