If you wanna know the difference between tax sales and life insurance sales, let me break it down for you. Basically one sets you up to scale to high income very fast and the other one most people fail. According to the Bureau of Labour Statistics, 80% of life insurance agents fall or quit in their first year. But in tax sales, reps are ramping up to over six figures in just 24 months, if not less. It's not less the lifestyle difference. We'll get to that in a second, but it's not what these life insurance gurus are bragging about online. So first off, entry pay. Life insurance agents are most of the time starting out commission only. No base salary if you don't sell. You don't eat. Tech sales though, entry level SDRs, they start out anywhere from 70 to 90,000 in total compensation with a base salary and with benefits and bonuses included. Number two, as for the training. Insurance companies love to say that they train you. Translation: here's a phone, here's a script and here's a bunch of people you need to call. Yes, they'll train you as you go, but most often than not, you're getting thrown into the wolves. Tech sales though, you get the best tools, enablement and managers that money has to offer. You're dealing with tools like Orum, Nooks, Gong, HubSpot, Salesforce, salesforce, sales lost. And you're not begging old people to meet you at your local Panera. Real ones know it's Breadco though. And No. 3, lifestyle. Life insurance, you're working nights, you're working weekends, and you're chasing friends and family. And you're also chasing chargebacks 24/7 on Instagram Reels or on TikTok. You see all these life insurance agents claiming that they drive Lamborghinis, they're always, you know, traveling, they're doing whatever else. What they don't tell you is they literally take those trips to make those posts, but 99% of the time they are not traveling. They are not having any sort of fun. Tech sales on the other hand, it's mostly nine to five and totally remote. You control your calendar, not your cousin's availability. Number four, as for long-term growth. As a handful of insurance agents crush it and they make six figures, but it takes years. And like I said, 80%, 90%, 95% most often than not, don't get there. Tech sales though, once you level up to an account executive in one to two years, you're looking at earning 20 to 250k plus per year, plus equity and stock options. Moral of the story is, yes, life insurance can be a great option for a very specific type of person, but tech sales teaches you leverage. Follow me and I'll show you how to actually break into tech sales and build a career that actually lasts.
