Spending $5,000 in three months is not an easy process. So here's exactly how I did it myself. If you don't know what I'm referring to, Chase just dropped their Sapphire Preferred with a 100,000 points bonus. And you have to spend $5,000 in purchases in the first three months from account opening, just to get those points. Amex also has a similar program where you have to spend $6,000 in purchases on your new card within the first six months of card membership. Welcome offers vary and you may not be eligible for all offers. Apply, and if approved. Find out your offer amount. Access the card with your offer. Spend $6,000 in purchases in six months. Receive the points. Number one is going to be travel. I got this card with the hopes of going to Japan and to use it for my hotels, so using this card, I bought my plane tickets. I bought two plane tickets, one for me and one for my girlfriend at $1,000 each, and that's $2,000 that I can check off just right there. Second one I had to think outside of the box, but it's going to the gym. Usually my gym membership costs me $60 a month, but I just paid it in full, so around $700 that went towards that $5,000 credit. Number three is events and concerts. Any tickets if you and your buddies are going to one place, you can pay for it on your card and have them Venmo, Zelle you cash, so that you can put some more money towards your card. And if it's starting to get close and you might not reach your goal, give the card to your family or friends that you trust and they can use it and then they can pay you. If they are more strategies to spend a lot of money in the short amount of time, especially when you don't have any bills, let me know in the comments.
