here's how I budget my teacher salary as a kindergarten teacher I actually track everything in Monarch so shout out to Monarch! so when budgeting my paycheck I always look at my fixed expenses first so that's my rent my bills my car insurance those things don't change and as a teacher I also have to budget for classroom supplies of course that's coming out of my pocket and not the school's and then I look at my variable expenses so those are things like subscriptions gifts and then as teacher with the end of the year coming up I'm thinking of the end of the year activities and celebrations things you wanna do before summer break and with my savings goal I actually only get paid for a 10 and a half months so I will not be getting paid in July and of course I have to think about how I'm going to survive the summer so making sure I'm putting enough into savings for that and even though summer hasn't started yet I also still have to think ahead with the beginning of the school year purchases I'll need to make and I usually purchase homework folders for the entire class and I usually like to buy the nice ones with like prongs and good quality ones that will just last the entire school year navigating your finances as a teacher can be very tricky and I'm also still trying to figure out what works best for me so all tips and tricks are welcome of course they don't pay us enough as is and we have to figure out how to be financial experts too
