I'm crashing out over kids who don't have jobs. There's a conversation that needs to be had, needs to be had now, and guys, it's about y'all's kids. If you have a kid that is the legal working age in your state, meaning in some states it's 14, 15 years old, that kid needs a job. Your kids need to be working, even if it's just a few hours on the weekends, for someone else. I'm not talking about mowing the yard for you. They need to learn how to be held accountable, they need to learn how to show up on time, they need to learn how to take constructive feedback, they need to learn how to work with other people. Because what's happening now is there are too many kids that are straight-A students through high school, straight-A students through college, graduate with honors, get into the workforce and crash out because they don't know how to have a job, because they never had to. It's not about trying to make them make money, it's about teaching them basic life skills so that when they have to support themselves, they can actually do it. Look, if you've got a college grad or four, an entry-level job is to teach you how to do that work. Teach you how to have a job. There are too many of you guys that are sending your kids out into the real world with a 4.0 and a college degree and expecting some frontline manager to teach them how to be an adult. That's your job as the parent. Make them go get a job, let them learn those life skills early, that way they don't get into a situation where they can't hold a steady job when they're 25.
