I just made the first full time hire for SellingSara. I'm gonna tell you exactly why I hired her and why she's the perfect fit for the SDR role. So first and foremost, we do have an internal team of five, but everyone's either contracted or part time. Making a full time hire was definitely the right decision. After two years in business, however, you need to make sure that you make the right one because it's definitely a huge risk. Everyone say hi to Georgia. There's three main reasons as to why I hired her. And once I explain to you what those three are, she's a no-brainer. I've expressed on social media that I needed an outbound seller for a while now. So what Georgia do? The first thing that she did was literally prospect the hell out of me for 12 months, showing me that she could already do outbound prospecting. She called me, emailed me, sent me LinkedIn messages for 12 months as to why she would be the perfect fit for the outbound SDR role. 12 months is a long time, but it didn't go unnoticed. And every time I saw her name pop up on my phone, I knew why she was reaching out. But timing is everything in sales, so I knew that at the right time, this could probably be a really good candidate that I should hire. At around month 8 of her prospecting me, she sent me a personalized video on LinkedIn and also sent it to my email, explaining all the reasons why she would be the perfect fit, not only for me as a coworker, but we're SellingSara as a business. She also came with a six month plan of everything that she planned to do hypothetically that she got the job to help expand the business and make it better. And at this point, as a business owner, I'm thinking, alright, we're getting to the point where we might actually need to hire this girl. The cherry on top. Georgia at month 12, this happened three months ago. Showed up to one of my live trainings with 500 people. Rose her hand for a question, closed me for an interview in front of 500 people live. Yep. That is truly when I knew Georgia was hired. Short story long, you need to be creative when you were applying to roles in 2026. You can't just hit apply and send your resume to any job posting. And Georgia was the perfect example of this. She's truly the perfect example of you don't get, and you gotta stay professionally persistent in order to get that dream job.
