From my own experience at 32. 1️⃣ Leave your laptop at your desk. Once it comes home with you, work never stops. 2️⃣ Do not put Teams and other work apps on your personal phone. That notification sound is triggering enough during work hours. 3️⃣ You do not have to respond to your manager outside of working hours. Unless it is a real emergency, it can wait until Monday. 4️⃣ Do not work on weekends unless you are being paid for it. It starts as a habit, then becomes an expectation. 5️⃣ Take your lunch break away from your desk. Your brain needs that reset. 6️⃣ Take your vitamins, drink your water, sleep your eight hours. Everything else falls apart without these three. 7️⃣ Move your body at least three times a week. Stress lives in your body and movement gets it out. 8️⃣ Tiredness goes away after a good night of sleep. Burntout does not. Learn to tell the difference before it is too late. 9️⃣ Say no to the extra project when your plate is already full. A good manager will respect it. A bad one will show you who they are. 🔟 Burnout builds slowly from all the times you said yes when you meant no. Start saying no now.
