Hi, it's Juliana! I want to be really clear about something. Sexual abuse isn't just forcing someone to have sex. It can also be: Pressuring you into sexual acts you don't want to do. Guilting you for saying no to sex. Using your sexual history or vulnerabilities to shame you. Sexually degrading or humiliating you. Using sexual affection to punish or control you. Why? Because when it comes to sex, you have to be free to make your own choices. You have to be free to say: “Yes.” “No.” “I don't want to do that.” “I changed my mind.” Without being scared of what happens next. Because if saying “no” means: They get angry. They shame you. They guilt you. They question whether you love them. They punish you or take affection away. Eventually, the question in your head can stop being: “Do I want to do this?” And become: “What happens if I don't?” And that's the problem. Because consent isn't just about whether you eventually said “yes.” It's about whether you were actually free to say “no.” And if someone is using pressure, guilt, fear, intimidation, or manipulation to take that freedom away from you, that's sexual coercion. Also known as... A form of sexual abuse. If you need someone to talk to about all of this, you can always send me a DM or schedule a session with me. My team and I help people heal from narcissistic abuse, and many of us have experienced it ourselves, so we're here if you need us. To your healing, Juliana ❤️🩹
