I think most successful AEs will tell you that being able to sell your product is one thing, but knowing about the sector and industry that your clients are in is completely different. But can be the difference between deal closed and deal lost. Being able to use the same terminology and acronyms and knowing what's going on in the market can really build trust in the conversation. And if your prospects trust you, it's going to be a lot easier to sell something to them. I'm not saying you now need a degree in cybersecurity, but listen to podcasts, take a few free courses so you can feel confident going into your course.
